Once upon a toadstool

Today at our Chinese New Year steamboat gathering at Ms. Teo's (the last of the new year visiting, God knows I've done more than my fair share of them), I was by far, the person who consumed the most mushrooms. What's wrong with that, I'd like to ask! Porcini, button, shitake, portobello, cremini, truffle... you can't go wrong with them. Especially with this recipe.

All you'll need is a good rack of spices, some stale bread and any of the above fungi. It's that simple. Who needs to call for a macdonalds breakfast when you've got mushrooms on toast? ;)
