What to do with summer

In three weeks, I would have been to five of these major cities (and then some) ! The thought of it is exciting and frightening at the same time. I hope to be able to be present in the beauty of the fleeting moment and of the city as well.

Thank you to God for allowing us to embark on this trip :) See you guys in a few weeks!

And this.

There's electric in the air
and it's seeping through our veins
A blanket of eclectic love
A throng of passion

I'm blind in a crowd but safe
We were all once borrowed earth
We are back to origins
We're back to basics

Where everything seems brighter
You are lovely
And I am whole again

Sink to our knees in mud
We're catching crochets from air
I think of you bathed in neon
the light that is of neon

And it's as if souls could talk
So we are love, tangible
The night is inspirational
The night is young

Where everything seems brighter
You are lovely
And I am whole again
Where stars shine brighter
We are lovely,
We are whole again.

Something Good Can Work

Hope for the Hopeless Musical 2011 finally came to an end (sometime last week, but I'm lazy like that) & so did my internship at Oops Asia. There's so much to say; how much I've learned and grown, about the people I've met & friendships made.

Though it was not always easy, I thank the ridiculously-efficient crew, a cooperative & terribly talented cast, Uncle Chris for giving me this opportunity to work and not bum around, my amazing coworkers for giving me lots of laughs, and most importantly, God. Thank you for guiding me through it all, there is nothing I can do without you.

I may be moving on (in the general direction of Western Europe, but that is a different subject altogether) to school and other things, but these six months have been brilliant & remembered fondly :)

As a bonus, I also got a mini hair and face make over by two talented colleagues/friends/bored make up artists. Everyone wants to looks different and nice once in a while... No but seriously, those girls are ace.

Mehhehhehehh.

Oh and church camp in a couple of hours time!

Bittersweet

'We the mortals touch the metals,
the wind, the ocean shores, the stones,
knowing they will go on, inert or burning,
and I was discovering, naming all the these things:
it was my destiny to love and say goodbye'

The things cereal can do

The Real breakfast of champions: fruit loops with a spoonful of icing sugar, with the obligatory mug of hot tea.

Whilst crunching away on the above cereal and reading another chapter of Jeffrey Eugenides Middlesex this morning, I had this strange feeling. Like a pure enjoyment of simplicity, completeness; It's a feeling I miss.

All that from a bowl of cereal. So Rebecca Black was right after all.

The silver flush on your cheeks

Buying a used Polaroid One Step off a friend for twenty dollars seemed like a pretty good idea; that is, till I saw the prices Amazon were asking for 600 polaroid colour film. $150 for 20 exposures? Not in a million years.

It's times like these we turn to projects like the IMPOSSIBLE POLAROID REVIVAL: people with a passion for instant photography, who has developed new Silver Shade Exposure technology for the average nostalgia-lover. And not at ridiculously overpriced rates too.

I loved the sample shots, the brilliant inconsistency of it all. Splurge excessively on online photography accessories? I think so.

Flags

Now that I lie quiet
I think about the words you said
And how you meant it
Sitting at foots of beds,
How your tears flowed

Oh
How I long to write
A song to cure your anguish
A kiss to seal the pain

Fitfully dreams, restless sleep
The thoughts cascade like gold rivers
Oh did you mean it?
The stories turn to dust and curls
A child within me

Oh
How I long to write
A song to cure your anguish
A kiss to seal the pain

I could run away
Pull a thread
To lead me back to you
