Like a lick of ice-cream

There are many reasons why I love Glee, and Dianna Agron is one of them.

This is she, performing with Thao Nguyen (from Thao and the Get Down Stay Down) at Chickens in Love mini concert, hosted by the lady herself.

Ever since hearing Thao at the Tiny Desk Concert concert series on youtube (which is a whole other project I'll be blogging about soon), I was pretty much spellbound. No other female singer-songwriter since KT tunstall had made an impression but Thao, is in a class of her own.

I mean, who beatboxes, sings infectious lyrics, and still manage to remain alarmingly nimble with the guitar solos?

The Chickens in Love project is in itself interesting ; 826LosAngeles students write their own original songs after attending workshops hosted by none other than indie band 'The Submarines'. These songs were then recorded by Los Angeles based recording artists(Hello, She&Him, Cold War Kids and the Magnetic Zeros) It was amazing how Agron becomes involved in a lesser-known project as such, between performing at the white house with the rest of her Glee cast and touring.

Vocal power may not be her strength, but there's something to the immaculate smoothness of her tone that complements the ragged edge of Nguyen's. Put the two together and its dynamic. The following is another project comprising of duo.

You can follow Dianna Agron here. You'd find her posts filled with amazing photography, incredible insight on often forgettable aspects of life and be exposed to another side other than the one you know from Glee.

Hey, so maybe saving the cheerleader, does save the world

:)

A good cup of... jane?

How I long for days filled with Peter Mayle, the odd choice of Styron's 'Sophie's Choice' and gourmet tea.

So yesterday I went for a booksale, followed by dinner at Mezza which was delish. Have rather exciting stories about cycling on thursday, but till the pictures are up... till then!

Miss you madness

Well if you're asking,
yes I do think back,
back to the days
when it was you and I
and to the special place
we reach for inside.

So you ask,
hey honey, don't you miss it?
A flicker,
here and there,
my love.

Candy-coloured skies
dancing on the green
I remember a time
where people used to dream in reverse

So well,
if you're asking,
yes I do miss you.

I have only one thing to say.

The Office, is just about the best show EVER.

Well, after SKINS and Little Britain and Glee.

Haven't been jamming, doodling and having a life lately with exams. I am just so relieved that ELL and CSE are over (I swear I almost suffered a brain stroke from the 6 hours of worth of papers in sweltering hear) and there's only GP left before holidays. Hell yeah!

And there's cycling tomorrow with the class! A way to get fit and also more a photography trip. Hello polaroids, kodak vintages, blackbird fly and the good ol' diana.

By the way, I'm all for Team Bowersox. Sorry Lee, it was a great run.

That's definitely more than one thing. Goodnight everyone :)

Make. Stuff.

When life gives you lemons, squeeze them in people's eyes!

Well, all I've got to say is there's bigger things in life than this drama. But still, you can't help but ask why. Why the lies? Why put yourself in that position? Why pretend?

And hey you, you're off to a brand new start from here and it's all uphill.

So this is me, us, moving on! There are new things to do everyday and we are wasting ourselves away in this clutter. Midnight! Off.

They carved the message deep within a broken heart that failed to mend

One day soon, I hope to make as much money as Johns does for just mere doodling.

from here.

A menima que vem e que passa

Tall and tan and young and lovely,
the girl from Ipanema goes walking
and when she passes,
each one she passes goes ah.

When she walks she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle,
That when she passes,
each one she passes goes ah.

Oh but he watches so sadly,
How can he tell her he loves her?
Yes, he would give his heart so gladly.
But each day when she walks to the sea,
she looks straight ahead,
not at he.

Tall and tan and young and lovely,
the girl from Ipanema goes walking
And when she passes,
he smiles,
but she doesn't see.

Good evening Brighton, we are the Stiff Dylans

'Ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with? Spurn my natural emotions, feel me feel like dirt, and I'm hurt.'

I think I'm going into the Angus, Thongs phase all over again.

Love the Stiff Dylans and all the wonderful brit bands and smexy accents that come with it! And thank you The Buzzcocks, for the words.

Oh Aaron. Why did you have to get hitched to a woman that could be your mom's age? Give us a chance, won't you?

I Heart Mom

Sounds a lot like my mom! Except sometimes I screw my face up in disgust for a while and then choke the rest of it down.

Hey, I can't help that I'm a picky eater.

Still, happy mother's day and happy birthday mom. I know you read this blog sometimes when all the green tea is drunk and all the kimchi's eaten. I love you very very much and you will always be my best friend :))

I am so rock and roll right now.

It was fair to say,
The ground beneath us was sinking deeper
heavy souls in fog, well.

There was nothing
holding us together,
not now and not ever.

What I need right now, is a really long holiday. Still, life hasn't been altogether dull :)

Skiving school to watch tennis competitions!

Jill and Mom (posing)
Blaze concert! was pretty cool, tad short tho!

Lit evening prep has been pretty crazy these past couple of weeks. By some immaculate stroke of luck, our written-the-night-before script and last minute scramble of acting 'genius' got us through for the literary event of the year. Whoopdedoo. Apples, void decks and violent screams!

Of course, there's always the never ending mountains of... shaved ice! Which I have been eating way too much off.

The last two were grossss. Mango and strawberry for life!

And there was Clare's failed 'cheer-up partay' at Marche, which was just another excuse for us to pig out on perfectly good food. Rosti and pork knuckles make friday nights a whole lot better.

Exams are in three weeks and I have barely started on filing! The excitement of hillsongs is getting to me. 'Fun' patrol antics are hilarious.

On a more serious note, better can my australian visa done online before I forget. Can you smell the air of a more independent-me here? HA. that's to say if I don't screw up first.

Sunday evenings are always depressing because it means a couple more hours to school. Did I say that I almost got into detention? Triple badassness. I AM THE NEXT COURTNEY COX HAHAHAHAHHA. For some reason, which I choose to believe as divine intervention, the PE department got confused and all messed up and I escaped, with nothing but Zac&Kieran's insults hurled at me.

Paid a visit to Aunt Lisa's home library. It was fantastic as per usual. Finally got a copy of 'love in the time of cholera'!! A classic! while Looking for Alaska was a great book, it's time to move on from there.

Will set up a blog especially for scanlations of the Doodle Diary Project soon :))) At least it's something that keeps spirit up during school days!

strawberry hill

Some nights when I think of you, I don't feel so alone.

"Love your crooked neighbour with all your crooked heart."
