the kids don't stand a chance.

OMG OMG OMG my father just BARGED into the room to catch me playing air guitar and headbanging to paramore's emergency.
(yes i do play air guitar and headbang and sing in an empty lift and talk to myself but why are we indulging in an excess of strange quirks? i digress.)

Why do people not knock nowadays?!

i can still hear him laughing outside. I don't think i would be more embarrased if the Queen on England had been standing at the doorway of my bedroom with a look of apparent disdain fresh on her century-old face.

P.S. totally dig hayley's new haircut/colour, looks absolutely wicked. Stayed up all night yesterday looking at online stuff i can't have, lest i rob the bank and live to actually buy band merch etc etc. Tis' the life of us peasants.

P.P.S I got VAMPIRE WEEKEND's self-titled album for 19.95!!! Talk about the steal of the year. It's the season for givingbuying good music for good prices!

Honey, you're the death of me.

___________________________________________

Hey everyone!

Its been a really hell of a hectic week with music camp at GM everyday and what not. Since exams were done with, i have been catching up with lots of reading. It is really a splendid feeling, putting down a book after a few hundred pages and feeling accomplished, something impossible to do the past few months. Grab a book everyone!

Oh before anything else is said i'd like to introduce an original reproduction of the Epiphone model 'Wildkat' that was just bought for church (a couple of weeks back..?). It is really, a semi-solid beauty, and a whole lot better than our cracked-up Ibanez model.

Monday had the very first electric guitar lesson with Oops Asia team, and they really made us so... inadequate. The team comprised of Patrick [worship leader/recorder/professional singer/keyboardist], Elliot[drums], Anson[bass], andrew[keys] and Timmy[electric guitar]. All of which went to contemporary music schools and have honours in their respective fields. but professional as they are[and amateurs as WE are], they were really humble and went all out to impart skills and musical knowledge to us.

My class consisted of Royce and myself, YES REALLY SMALL CLASS. But it was brilliant. in a single lesson we were scribbling the pentatonic scales down furtively and playing actual free jazz fill ins!! It felt so good to be able to do that.

The rest of the week were pretty much the same routine of going to church and having lessons, workshops and concert practices. Drum lessons with elliot was mighty interesting, learnt a ton of stuff.

Sleepover pictures, thus the brilliant videos taking with the mac. and stoopid photos.

do you now??
Lizzie with her 50-dollar-rip-off-of-a-wig.
Cyndi Lauper had better hair.

Anyhoos, had a major picture spaz with Lizzeh's Macky. The following just goes to show how we don't really hell care about unglam pictures cause the fun anyway and make you laugh like the hooville people.
Five-string basses never tended to bode well with me.

Ooooh! its a geek!

chug away, this is our night!!

Sometime around two am on the patio, before heading up to the attic to sleep(yeeeah right.)

Lizzie says: The trick to taking jump shots is to not jump. Just flail your arms wildly and spaz alot, and it'll look loads real.

So watched What Happens in Las Vegas and laughed like hell, oooh and aaahed at ashton kutcher (lizzie's new love.) and drank the 1.5litre bottle of coke. I think im banned from their house! Finally fell asleep at four am with lizzie screaming god knows what.

woke up feeling like a really overdue hungover. Was exhausted and lizzie was still screaming [since last night?!] about stop-motion videos and taking bus 80 to church so i think i died for about half an hour there and ascended to the heavens. but god reminded me i had a 1:30 class and rushed back to church.

Thursday's lesson involved a final jam and practise for the 'LIVE AT GM' concert. The Oops Asia team more or less made up look like an absolute joke a little bit like a sham, but its all for the glory of god, si?

Timmy reminds me of a teddy bear. in the form of a lesser know, steve vai, of course. Also a liverpool fan haha!
Elliot as always, was wicked on the drums.
and so were you luki, HAHA.

Well the concert went pretty well. i was using Royce's US fender and it felt... heavenly. If i may say so. It did cost a hefty 900US tho, so it better!

The rest of the service went pretty smoothly but leng was a bit peeved since we didnt pay much attention. CHHHH all jennifer's fault, who did i mention, made a spectacular comeback after being M.I.A from music camp for the whole week?

timmy rules! Kudos to the best guitar player in the world.

Who does not dig elliot's jumper!

Andrew, brilliant at keys and synth. Mel and Lucy really learnt a hella lot from him(although he scared all of us at first, we soon realised he was pretty docile and a nice dude. in fact, he and sheri hit off pretty well. hmmm.)

Anson, wicked bass player.

So just mucking around and taking pictures of kids.

When micah's supposed to have a serious face, he doesn't. Sheesh!

Golly, my hair's cool!

Picture of the century jen a.k.a girl who isn't really my friend cause she neglects telling me the truth of her online journals. phoo.

Hung out with Mel, Ains, Carl and Luki in church and we were the last to leave for some supper at HK cafe at Upper East coast. Had a blast, and by the time ains drove us home it was about 1-ish. Made plans for friday i think... my timing's all screwed up.

Friday had drum class with carl at the studio with alex and edwin (luki neglected to show up. at all!) which was pretty much useless. Mooching around as usual. Met tim, nick and mel afterwards for dinner in town and a movie, which we didnt catch eventually. All we did was trial behind carl while he did some shopping, and let me tell you, for a dude he surely does love shopping.

After a tired dinner at pepper lunch, alex went home and we headed to marina square for some pool(which i suck at, evidently.) but got distracted by the I.D photo booth as usual.

I.D photo number 6 of the year!
Pool at the arcade. Didnt even play a single round, was too busy drinking some overpriced coffee from starbucks and screaming our heads off playing House Of the Dead 4 with Mel. Have i mentioned both of us absolutely SUCK at those Drum-mania machines things? It is embarrasing to have two (ex-)percussionists laughing when the speakers on the game machine announce loudly to half the world 'YOU HAVE FAILED THE BEGINNER'S STAGE' to half the world.

Even with a broken arm, nick still played well! life is waay unfair.
cabbed home with luki ains and mel and talked about stupid things like we always do. i swear luki and mel were about to choke on their own tongues when we started talking about the ice hotel and gay babies.

Saturday had lifenet and then dinner with the family wherein dad said 'Hey lets go get some coffee from Coffeebucks.'

Today was another early morning at church where we played. The songs were screwed up... then the baptism at mel's house in her swimming pool. So now Sheri is baptised yay! I am proud to be the only one in my family to have a saltwater baptism, that is, one at sea. Siloso beach to be exact. It was definitely more exciting then a simple dunk under chlorine-infiltrated water. Was supposed to have ice-cream with mel and the lads but had to return home to um sleep. :)

Tomorrow A-level students finish, which means jennifer is a free person! For now. Yay!
Goodnight all.

As the city sleeps, we rule th- FREAKIN' WEBCAM!

helloo little buggers out there. this is not Stacy. she is on an epic search of her pony named Pumpernickel (which is a type of bread) and honestly i don't think she'll succeed but don't tell her that; you wouldn't want to dampen her spirits, would you?

it's 1:42AM at the moment and LiveJournal is down. boo to you, LiveJournal. HI JEN!

and here's a picture.

all my love (but not all, you get what i mean),
Lizzie

drink from half of a broken bottle,

Remind me,
these memories seem to fade
as quickly as they come,
It isn't right,
because joy never had a deadline
and happiness never a boundary.

You are broad words on walls
the last city standing in these ruins,
And i am so lost.

Of course, the single word echoing in everybody's mind on thursday at exactly 0900 hours was PROM. Prom, prom, prom. and now the laborious update.

It was peculiar, but amazing, to see everyone around me pretty dazed, silly grins plastered across faces while we shifted the tables(for the last time, good riddance.) The spirit of JOY was infectious, soon everyone was running about, screaming and walking across storey-high stacked chairs. After stacking the last dusty table onto the stack, we were all quickly ushered to the colourful benches downstairs to break out the wine.... or rather a bottle of fine apple sparkling juice! Provided thoughtfully by pei rong. In the words of gabe of cobra starship, pop the cheap champagne! The brief affair of popping the bottle was quite funny. CHEERS TO ALL BIOLOGY GIRLS! MAY WE ALL GET OUR As!!

Went back to take a good three hours snooze before heading to nic's house for prom/mask prep! When me and jas got there, there were dozens of teeny beads scattered all over the floor, and the group working on their masks, foreheads BEADED with sweat. ha. ha. ha.

Yeap so joined em. The whole place was quite a mess when we decided it was time to dress up and gooooo.

and here are our two strapping young 'men'. Emi's bowtie is cute!

and geraldine fretting about her very 'BLUE' situation. Trying on shorts after shorts after shorts!!! Sheesh all the problems start to surface just an hour before leaving...

to celebrate, bought more of the 'artificial' liquor! Although the taste was not to my liking, all in the name of prom!

geraldine's classic look.

This reminds me of nicole's surprise party we had two years back! haha. except we're all grown up and dressed nicely, for a change. So after a debate on whether to scare the heck outta people by taking public transport or going there in cab, it was decided that we arrive in 'style'. Ha!

Turned out to be the first ones there. Got dropped off and saw bryan of WGB smoking outside york, which was quite a put-off. Caught mathea hoveirng around the basement waiting for a gang and headed upstairs.

OOOH and nicole's mom was at the ticket booth helping out. it was funneh. Clarebear and Amanda were there already, constantly hounding the camera guy who gave out free picture cards. they were major coolios!

Nicole looks constipated.

in shoes, tights, and heels we trust.

'pek chek' judy.
WHAT A SURPRISE to see janna decked out in nearly the same colours as me! Unfortunately, i got called 'Janna!' twice that evening, which was an absolute insult! Haha kidding.

Holding XQ's fake hair. Eek it was horrible.

tall people shouldnt wear heels! They make all the short farts look, well, short.
but thanks anyway for bending down to make me feel a whole lot better, you two

Oh another way we passed time was by planning how to get to table number 17, the table 'closest to the food', as emilia said in a matter-of-fact tone.

with the bra models. meeeh.

WELL HELLO RANDI I WILL PRY THAT NOSE STUD OUT OF YOUR SKIN BECAUSE YOU CALLED ME JANNA.

okay i won't because if i do the world will lose one of the most gifted photographers ever and we won't have anyone to take pictures of a hot hot hot Bryan.

The doors FINALLY opened. Dark and smoky. Not very nice. This mad dude with a mask ran about trying to scare us and no doubt, people screamed. I heard Li min went up to him and gave his head a good knock tho. Good on you girl!

After the Emcee came up and did all the yadda-da-da party stuff, we finally got to eat! It was hilarious because we were queueing up for the food and then we saw ms daisy tan on the other side of the table heaping her plate! Clearly she didn't have her eyes wide enough to know that the queue was here, and some girl from another class pointed out quite rudely: 'eh. ms tan, the queue is here lah. don't cheat can!', to which she mumbled an apology and shuffled to the end. Ufufufufu. Everyone deserves a few laughs on their prom night.

I don't know what happened but our table was heaped with plates of deserts before people were done with the first course! Haha. fast eaters, what can i say?

the infamous table 17.

OKAY THE FIRST BAND. i have a whole crapload of things to say. It was bad enough when they started off playing this awful screechy song with bad guitar, bad drums, bad vocals and then the lead said 'And that was 'Starlight' by Muse'. TOTALLY UNRECOGNISABLE. For the lousy performance i can forgive, but DEGRADING TWO AUSSOME PARAMORE SONGS IN A SPACE OF HALF AN HOUR I CANNOT.

If you can't pull of paramore songs, don't even try because you'll just end up embarrasing yourself. Not only are you ruining our prom, you're shaming the face of genuine rock music and genuine rockers with genuine talent. i don't know how you ended up performing at our prom (and being the worst part of it, trust me.) but stop screwing up other people's songs. Me and emi had to escape to the toilet and scream the frustration off.

Even sarah anne was disgusted, and she usually doesn't care! She was like 'OH GOD WHAT THE HELL IS THIS MAN.' very well said, sally.

Enough about secondhand wannabes. Fashion shoe up next where a bunch of people along with Renee and Steph modelled for bodynits! It wasn't as anti-climatic as i expected. Actually it was rather well-received. Caught a picture of stephanie as she strutted her way down the stage!

Next the dancing competition! Only the people who were there can live to tell the magnificant tale of 'Yeung Wing: She Got da' Moves'. Words cannot express what happened, it was a sight to behold.

Yeung wing won, in short. i always knew she would be a fab dancer.

WGB UP NEXT WHOOPDEDOO.
they were what really got the party kicking XD headbanging and what not. the music was so much better than the first 'band' (whose name does not deserve to stick to memory) that we were all hopping about and crap. Lead guitarist has good vocals and bryan was as usual, hot.

Credits to randi. My camera aint all that good.
Oh in the middle of a song, i heard a girl behind me say 'God, i swear i want to lick the sweat of him.' As much as i like bryan, i would NEVER EVER lick sweat off anyone. Especially someone who sweats as much as him. eek.

it was funny hearing that tho.

Dancing started. Some person with stilettos trod on my poor tootsies and i have the scars to show for it. it was like a fully-fledged club, i swear. Who knew Sacians could be such party people? By the time Hope For Monday came out and sang loads of covers we were jostling in front and headbanging like there was no tomorrow.

the girl has a fabulous voice! Some of them came from Joy's and Lizzie's church btw, EAOG.
Oh and this has to be my favourite picture of the night.

MUAHAHAHA.
Clare who went half-insane and started hopping around like a mad person holding up her um... assets.
Nicole: Proof that it really waaas a lesbian partay.

Geraldine in a shawl...? and renee pulling up her dress. the whole night!!!

Yeap so they played hallelujah twice and i can't really remember what happened except that emi and me went positively rabid. And they sounded SO much better than the first band, and the most well-received as well. Did some crazy stuff like a forming a conga line and marching around the room (i think mdm chan grabbed my waist at one point of time and joined in. Whooa.), got up the stage and got crazier. Man what a night. Clare was mad and joy was hilarious. Patricia was innit yo!

Amanda wining the sexiest legs competition. Surprise surprise!

It was around twelve when we finally got into nicole's dad's car and drove off to the temporary home sweet home, albeit a messy one with beads all over the place and what not. Had a little problem with the sparkling juice bottle, none of us could open it(even emilia), it was quite funny.

Went downstairs for a good cold shower before going up to clear stuff. Watched a hell lot of TV and laughed. Geraldine knocked out first, which was surprising because i am the one that usually goes to sleep immediately, followed by sarah ee and judy. Nicole decided to go to comforts of her spcious bed while we were sprawled on her living room floors. So in the end someone screwed up the TV controls and we couldnt watch anymore, and so decided to go to sleep. BUT SARAH ANNE WAS BEING A TOTAL KUTU and not letting us get some shut eye. The fact that gerry woke up and started jostling about didn't help at all... was in a state of breakdown by the time i finally fell asleep at five.

and somehoe this is how we woke up in the morning. i am NEVER sleeping next to SALLY again. Good grief, i got punched multiple times and sat on. It is violating, i tell you.

Went to church till 12+ and went home to sleep for twelve straight hours. I think all of us are currently catching up on all the lost hours of sleeps and afternoon naps lost during O level preps, and it definitely feels good.

I think the fact that we have two whole months of holiday hasn't sunk in yet. But what opportunities these open for us! First off the list is Music Camp 08, some more maad parties and a hell lot of sleepovers. Its finally here, and we deserve it :)

Till next time.
