I Heart Mom

Sounds a lot like my mom! Except sometimes I screw my face up in disgust for a while and then choke the rest of it down.

Hey, I can't help that I'm a picky eater.

Still, happy mother's day and happy birthday mom. I know you read this blog sometimes when all the green tea is drunk and all the kimchi's eaten. I love you very very much and you will always be my best friend :))

I am so rock and roll right now.

It was fair to say,
The ground beneath us was sinking deeper
heavy souls in fog, well.

There was nothing
holding us together,
not now and not ever.

What I need right now, is a really long holiday. Still, life hasn't been altogether dull :)

Skiving school to watch tennis competitions!

Jill and Mom (posing)
Blaze concert! was pretty cool, tad short tho!

Lit evening prep has been pretty crazy these past couple of weeks. By some immaculate stroke of luck, our written-the-night-before script and last minute scramble of acting 'genius' got us through for the literary event of the year. Whoopdedoo. Apples, void decks and violent screams!

Of course, there's always the never ending mountains of... shaved ice! Which I have been eating way too much off.

The last two were grossss. Mango and strawberry for life!

And there was Clare's failed 'cheer-up partay' at Marche, which was just another excuse for us to pig out on perfectly good food. Rosti and pork knuckles make friday nights a whole lot better.

Exams are in three weeks and I have barely started on filing! The excitement of hillsongs is getting to me. 'Fun' patrol antics are hilarious.

On a more serious note, better can my australian visa done online before I forget. Can you smell the air of a more independent-me here? HA. that's to say if I don't screw up first.

Sunday evenings are always depressing because it means a couple more hours to school. Did I say that I almost got into detention? Triple badassness. I AM THE NEXT COURTNEY COX HAHAHAHAHHA. For some reason, which I choose to believe as divine intervention, the PE department got confused and all messed up and I escaped, with nothing but Zac&Kieran's insults hurled at me.

Paid a visit to Aunt Lisa's home library. It was fantastic as per usual. Finally got a copy of 'love in the time of cholera'!! A classic! while Looking for Alaska was a great book, it's time to move on from there.

Will set up a blog especially for scanlations of the Doodle Diary Project soon :))) At least it's something that keeps spirit up during school days!

(if you'd only) dream a little dream of me

I remember getting one of these from my penpal (by snail mail, mind you, all the way from Europe) years ago. Now, I still have no inkling of what it's truly for; give you pleasant dreams, take away the nightmares, or simply for you to remember the subconscious drifting? You tell me.

Anyway, found some rather lovely quote online by D.H Lawrence. Finally something he says that makes sense to me!

Oops, which reminds me. Lit essay which was due last week and not yet handed up. uh-oh. Lit tutorials are getting incredibly dull.

Ms Chua: Class, am I going too fast?
Val(whispers): No, she's going too boring

on the other hand, CHICAGO was wicked. What can I say, I love cabaret. Full update next time! For now, it's time to surf into dreams :)

She left him shimmering

Search for your inner rockstar,
climb trees and make the world your own
Hey girl,
you make it seem so easy,
taking life and slipping it into her pocket,
so they march hand in hand.

Go and make sparks
fairy dust,
on cold spring grass
Tangle of clean-cut boys
oh and the girl with their summer dresses,
stockings and tattered jeans.

Hey,
what are you waiting for?

Mondays are such a trail to get up to. So procrastination was a suitable companion on a very lazy weekend; two lit essays and a CSE outline went undone, plus delibrate effort to ignore upcoming math C.A. Also, the entire family had the ill-luck of catching the flu on Saturday night. I had worse luck because the flu turned out to be a 24-hour bug, which meant school as per usual today! Drats.

Still it hasn't been all dull.

Here's to good, clean wholesome fun to NLCC Family Day! Oh hey!

Kenny's birthday at Swensens and Clare's 18th Surprise party a little over a week ago. Stalling is not my best ability. Lead a rather bemused Clare around like an aimless sheep till she got all huffy about going to Marche two hours late and... hola! SURPRISE!

Happy bithday to Rach too, where Clare and I were almost late as we squeezed the massive cupcake balloon out of Clare's mom's van thingy and it popped anyway. Go mommy!

eating healthy veggies. Hey, friday is vegan day!

loved the lightning in the photos.

Somehow by the end of the night, we always have one of these. Why nat, why!

Had a pretty crazy journey on the circle line, actually, it almost felt like a journey across the earth. 18 people, lest restless younger youth who slid down empty MRT stair rails and hollered across ticketing booths.

Still, we made it! hurrah!

Day 10 of the doodle diary. Nicholas Glascow tore a page out 'by accident' he says, but I know its just to get back at me for ignoring him the whole lesson. Irritant! None the less, Math Prep Hours was pretty okay cause we listened to brit bands all night and sand while Kieran mercilessly dissed the Wombats, Passion Pit, Phoenix, the like. Sigh.

CHICAGO tomorrow! Have been waiting for this for months! Unfortch, it's a likely possibility that I'll be wearing school U to such a glam event, courtesy of music ministry rehearsals and lit evening meetings. Double yuck.

Ah Math C.A. Abhor JC life vehemently.

To end on a brighter note...

uMama Warm?! Seriously, what bizarre contraption and product name will they come up with next? Great way to put people off a marginally-sellable massage machine.

There's got to be more to life

20/4/2010; A day of digging into old novels, music recording, art and a little photography.

Although slightly spoiled by the endless queues at one of the lesser-known polyclinics and the searing hot sun at tennis matches, I do wish everyday could be somewhat like today :) Shaved ice with the girls, dinner with the family and acoustic tunes with the band after. And this is why the occasional skive is, and will always be, good for the soul.

The doodle diary project has been progressing so far! Something to do whilst the endless minutes tick away at school. Which I am pretty close to giving up due to its utter uselessness.

Will do a picture update on everything that's been happening soon. Sleep and a bedtime read awaits.

Tralalalalah.

I eat ice-cream for breakfast

Have been obsessed with this duo since a couple days back. And since people have been asking me why I haven't been putting in contacts the past couple weeks/months, this is the answer to whyyyy!

Love it when they dress as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn! Everything is lovely! Brooke White from AI7 is the blondie.

Find out more from http://thegirlswithglasses.com/

Some shots from History night last Friday! It was brilliant. Our class won overall (i think) and got 20 free GV movie passes!

Teehee I couldn't resist. Not when the the Gray Blazer walks in.

Barney Stinson suits up. Kieran's dream!

And Nick's party after. Kieran's cool crib, stealing cupcake ribbons and warm beer, fail at pool. Happy birthday!

Today the lads had NAFA. Rather exciting event! Hope everyone who didn't pass this time will do so next week!

And there is this ridiculous CCA rubbish on Friday which I don't want to go for. But PW results! Despise these little important decisions life makes us choose.

Hopelessly behind in math. There are bigger things in life, just so you know guys.

Go. Do.

Dusty snapshots of corner cafes. A flurry of feathers. Music so simple, it's magic.

Go sing, too loud
Make your voice break- Sing it out
Go scream, do shout
Make an earthquake...

You wish fire would die and turn colder
You wish, your young, could see you grow older
We should always know that we can do anything

Go drum, too proud
Make your hands ache - Play it out
Go march through a crowd
Make your day break...

You wish silence released noise in tremors
You wish, I know it, surrender to summers
We should always know that we can do everything

Go do, you'll know how to
Just let yourself, fall into landslide
Go do, you'll know how to
Just let yourself, give into low tide

Go do

Tie strings to clouds
Make your own lake - Let it flow
Throw seeds to sprout
Make your own break - Let them grow

Let them grow (Endless summers)
Let them grow (Endless summers)
(Go do endless summers)

You will survive, will never stop wonders
You and sunrise will never fall under

You will survive, will never stop wonders
You and sunrise will never fall under
We should always know that we can do everything.

Crayola colours

Don't get the concepts of flower shops. Flowers should be free. Next time I'll open a free-flower stand for everyone. That'll show em'!

In the spirit of contradiction, I bought a cerise-coloured daisy. Love daisys. Accept I don't have a vase so I put it in a coca-cola glass.

Life is good. For now.

If you've got an impulse, let it out

This is the time
to be airborne in lofty dreams.
For warm kisses
and poet's triumph,
Summer.

This is the time
for lawns and lemonade.
Lazy ideas
and grass scent,
Summer.

Today is the day,
No time for laters,
next years, maybes.
Cause you know
if I had to pick a day
it'll be now dear,
spent in Summer heat.
