Tales of girls, boys and marsupials

chipmunkkk!

________________________________________

Many apologies to C2/Virginia/Blur block of blur city for ditching her on our weekly TGIF getaway! But i did want to go for the netball match so badly, especially since i have never been to one, and it was the FINALS! ACJC vs. RJC!

We supported AC, for obvious reasons. Although it would have been more exciting if amanda was playing.

Was actually rather worried that our dearest Lingustics teacher/the walking-mouth-on-legs would delight us with an afternoon spent in detention that very day, but thank goodness she didn't.

I got to ride in Clare's Mom's Van thingy! Which was kinda the highlight of the day haaaa. Tell me, how many people shove an entire SOFA into the back of their vehicle? One!

Anyway, it was really wicked fun.

Being retarded. AS USUAL!

Met with Mel T and Marcus (Markus?!) with emi coming later. I was quite the noob, emilia had to keep telling me what was going on throughout the whole match. It is a complicated game, alright?!?

Melissa's arms are just TOO long.

Marcus is pouting...?

awesome banner!

I suppose it was a rather exciting match, the players were just flying around the court like white/black dots.

In short, AC won with a score of 50-something to 40 i think, 15 points ahead. WHOO. beat the nerds!

The terrible part: Mel's labtop got stolen!

Damn you Indian fella who kept loitering around our section. I feel like such a darned fool for not doing something when i could have, since i spotted him acting all suspicious before awards-ceremony. Well, i did tell Clare, but since we are the two most forgetful people in the world, it was soon forgotten.

Escalated into quite a drama involving a police car with three anxious policemen, an extremely long statement and a Macbook lost. With luck, Mel will get it back! Cheer up!

Stupid flu kept bugging me the whole day, mind you. Bloody irritating.

Today afternoon, travelled all the way to town to get my ovation fixed. It was kinda hilarious because luki asked me what was wrong with it when we were on the way to Peninsula to meet nick, and this is what i said:

'The nut got stuck in the bridge.'

In non-guitar terms, it means the little nub at the end of the string got stuck in the wooden slot below the guitar hole. Well, it started getting funny after i repeated it in my head a few times. Not so much, no?

The rest of the aftenoon was spent hunting for nicholas' Super-Padded-Bass-Bag (powerrr) and trying out an assortment of very cheap and extremely-you-won't-believe-it-expensive-guitars at Bras Pasar, after Luki decided to ditch us to go to Serine Center. Visited the place where i first got my lousy psychedelic swirl TGM model, it was hilarious! Although the six string bass we saw (and nick tried) was fun.

Had to miss social for homework. grrrr. Late nights don't do me any good.

I still have my math FA, english compre and Linguistic essays to write. Not to mention Chinese orals to 'mug' for. Hoorahh!

Oh, and 300pages of Women in Love to read, which is only the most boring book written in the history of the world. No wonder D.H. lawrence was a depressed chap, who only had the biggest crush on his mother.

Good morning world. And goodnight.

Unravel at the seams

Tripping on the tightrope
when you've got no other place to go,
our days are short,
but these nights are so long,
there's time to spare.

Sing a song in the name of love.
Dim the lights,
tonight we're in for a show.

KRIS ALLEN IS IN THE FINALS. Thank you America!

Woke up today with a headache bad enough to crack a head and a pretty bad fever. Went to our family doctor to get medicine and an excuse slip, but was rather appalled by the generla atmosphere of the clinic. Everyone wearing bright green masks and looking like glum monsters. When i told the lady at the front counter that i had the flu, she looked at me like i was a walking germ and slid a green mask over the table, and took a step further behind. sheesh!

So i guess you could consider it a 'day-off', lest one with lotsa sneezing and drowsiness.

HAVE TO CATCH UP ON MATH. curses.
Jamming was awesome stuff :D Except Nick and Luki made fun of the new name i came up with AGAIN, after they decided 'The Electric Prunes' wasn't good enough. Luki actually said this:

Eh, actually, 'Mike Stands and Guitar Amps' isn't bad what.

I could just scream. Till further notice, TEP remain the official name. Got it!!

Maxxie is currently into a band called Deftones. I'm not really into the kind of music he listens to, but i've got to say, this one isn't too bad :) Music recommendation for the week.

So stoked that Green Day's album is out tomorrow. Pick it up at your local(?) record store! And enjoy.

I really should be getting down to some work. Since mid-years are a couple weeks away. I think.

I wanna hold your glaaaand.

Today is gone,
and you're still sleeping tomorrow away,
On a bed of sunshine,
he's wasting away,
But for not too long i pray.

Summer came,
flickers in the sea and the world's still spinning,
just not the way you hoped it would be.
You've got to dance,
dance on the tables honey,
fall in love today.

So.
All night long,
we sang a song.
Crossing the golden sands.

How we enjoy long weekends. School holiday pride!

Saturday had a PW meeting in Toa-freaking-payoh, but HH was nice enough to give me a 45-minute allowance to come in late cause everyone else lived nearby. The rest of it, well you can pretty much guess (or laugh about. or gloat.) what happened. Shall spare you the dramatics and move on.

Music practise which was fun I GUESS although we lamented on the fact that Luki should have been playing drums this week instead of me, which is a major major difference. Luki you can suck it for not coming back earlier LIKE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO.

Anyway, he's back now, so he can jolly well take over all my scheduled-drum weeks. A small price/punishment to pay you know! Plus a hundred Krispy Kreme donuts, thanks.

MANPUKU is the shizzle. Boo to misers like the older Lee kids duo.

Sunday was mother's day AND my mother's birthday. Double pressure! So it was a day of way to much good food at way to expensive restaurants with way too many nosy relatives.

First meal at the acclaimed hotel. It wasn't that big a deal, just your average chinese food fare. Boring.

However, the bizarre statues/sculpture/artwork of undeterminable nature was rather interesting. brownie points for that!

Spot the difference! Awwww kidding mom!

Another dinner with dad's side. And then a rather imprompto sleepover at jenny's jennifer's!

Lotsa movies and ISLAND CREAMERY

My vunderful drawing of a suburban house on jennifer's tablet where she draws all her wonderful manga drawings like this:
ITS SO PRETTY INNIT. anyway jennifer, don't spaz when you see this up. And only cause you deleted the pic i took of the drawing you did last night on your tablet.

Long story. i though the tablet was like a laptop pad. Top ten loser moments, thanks for pointing it out jen!

Next morning i kept falling back to bed. Blame the constant rain (which to me, is sleep-inducing. I'M A CAT <>DAMN YOU MOE

Regarding jamming on wednesday,

nicholas says:
eh
luki can jam on wed
stacecake! says:
who's that? (emphasizing the fact that he has been absent for really really long)
nicholas says:
a drummer
not from the electric prunes
stacecake! says:
he/she has a weird name
nicholas says:
she
stacecake! says:
LOL
clever
anyway wed i might not be able to jam
nicholas says:
y????!!!!!!!
stacecake! says:
long story
okay cause my school right
nicholas says:
waaaaaaaaaaaaaa
dun your sch la
stacecake! says:
has this night study programme
LISTEN FIRST
nicholas says:
dun go la
oi
stacecake! says:
LISTEN!!!!!
nicholas says:
when finally can
u like that
stacecake! says:
I KNOW YOU ARE JAM-DEPRIVED
SO AM I
LISTEN TO MY STORY FIRST!!!
nicholas says:
ok
fine.
what.

Hilarious stuff. That's what you get after no jazz practise for two and a half months cause your drummer decided to hang out with his 'kor' in myanmar and play with his younger brother.

Anyway, the reason why i probably have to stay back on wednesday for the night study is because mom decided to be charitable and signed up for the CJC SNACK FRIENDS (yes i know. terrible name, much?) and has to stay back till nine. And I, being a filial daughter was thinking of staying back as well.

But we'll figure it out. afterall, its high-time we got back to jamming. :D
MIDNIGHT!

later, folks.

P.S. chinese orals tomorrow. Holy cows.

The Electric Prunes save the day.

You were going so well,
writing out the stories all by yourself,
so i rewarded you with the back of my mind,
my oh so wondrous mind,
but what did you do?

_____________________________________

Hello midnight.

Results came out yesterday and of course it was a little more than dramatic. Putting that aside tho, it was a good time to catch up with people. Congrats to Janna (who i was was unfortunate enough to sit next to, since she had eight. bloody. points.), whose mom was less than enthusiastic when i phoned her.

Me: AUNTIE!! YOUR DAUGHTER JUST SCORED EIGHT POINTS! WHOOO
Janna: (half-sniffling because she's janna like that.) *sniff sniff... Did you just call my mother?
The Mother: Huh hello?! what's this? huh?

Hilarious. and congrats to everyone else who got the results they wanted. Especially clarebear, oh my sweet cows. Who got fifteen points. I swear the air was thick with flying pigs that day :) You punk.

I was kinda disappointed but thinking about it now, i just gotta thank god for my results and be happy. Cause god has a plan for all of us! So CJC with its extremely bad reputation, here i come! I guess i always had that soul-bond to catholic education institutions, even if they are all the way in um, toa payoh. Which is a totally different region to me, by the way. Thank god that people like Nicole, Liz, Sally, Emi and clare will be going there, so i won't feel like such a goosegog in my own school :) Thanks mom & all my friends for the support!

Today spent the day in church going over jazz rhythms and writing some riffs down with the lads and BOY was it frustrating. Its not easy at all. But i guess the best part was coming up with our new band name. OHMIGOD BOYS ARE SO SUCKY AT COMING UP WITH NAMES.

i came up with The Electric Prunes & JuiceBox & The Lalalas (as opposed to The Yeah Yeah Yeahs) & a whole bunch of other names but they all said it sucked! Instead Nick came up with the worst name in band-naming-dom. Here it comes.

MIKE STANDS AND GUITAR AMPS.

i kid you not. Srsly. Ditto the Nick-tons. Or Nightmare Cinema.

But now its pretty much between the Touchtones or Groove Boulevard (BO-RING, i know. The electric prunes rock so much more. but hell, a name does not make a band.)

Supper with Mel and jie ains at some ulu-place and it was fun :)

Anyway i just had one of those life-changing moments in my life because me and randi are going to see JASON MRAZ LIVE IN CONCERT ON MARCH FIFTH.

epic. I know. Hey he's no Paramore, but now we can see him sing smexily from the side of his mouth and wear fedora hats and all that jazz. Although the fact that he is doing that vair-gay-sticking-out-pinky-thing that Luki always does makes me pretty darn disturbed. None the less.

Now the only problem is raising 145 buckeroos without motherdear finding out. (money tree, why did you shrivel up and die last year, oh you were my only hope!)

waking up tomorrow at the crack of dawn to go to Nick's house for goodness knows what. Well, noon, but its EARLY.
