My Heart

Saying goodbye to one of the most influential, energetic and talented bands in my life. Despite all the finger-pointing and trash-talking (on both sides), I've got to say that if Josh & Zac weren't happy, it was right for them to leave. All good things do have to come to an end.

It's sad, but as long as paramore has Hayley, there's still hope :) Love you guys!

Vitality

So your father told you once
That you were his princess
You won't see the castle
You cannot find your prince

And now you've grown a lot
And your dress don't fit right
Your daddy's not a hero
He stole your chariot

So here you are in pieces
Trying to prove to us it's real
The softness of your smile
And the lies you want to feel

The scales beneath your skin
Are showing off today
There's evil in your heart
And it wants out to play

There's evil in your heart
And it wants out to play
There's evil in your heart
And I made a home here

For me.
You'll burn it down with your fantasy.

After five years, still haven't gotten enough of them.

You know what's left? Love.

Think cranberry juice
and dresses of autumn leaves,
Taking snapshots for fun,
Ribbons in summer hair
With grief I am done.

Forget about the
dressing for impressing,
And eyes on you today.
I'll like to sing when
everyone or no one
is watching.

Why the chin so low, lovely?
Don't dream of love,
Fight for it.

Because all we want is for people to say,
Hello stranger,
I think I might love you.

A week of mugging sessions has reduced my brains to mush (CTs was rubbish. What's new?) I'd like to say I've been doing fantabulously productive things the past two days but the truth is... well I haven't. More like, sleeping a lot and watching my favourite flicks all over again. plus catching up on SKINS.

Episode 7 was pure bullpoopy. The killing of Freddie Mclair by insane shrink Dr. Foster was TOSH. This season has been so intense. Heartbreaking, deep, sometimes with waaay too much of the hanky-panky... but man. It's been a good ride :)

R.I.P Freds.

On a lighter note, finally got my diana mini rolls developed in malaysia when I skived school on tuesday! Some were good, some were terrible. Of course, the 72-exposure roll that Sarah Anne ruined MERELY by touching it with her radioactive hands came out more-than-half black. Sighhh.

And of course, last Sunday was one of the most Legendary nights of my life.

PARAMORE@SG 2010

what can I say? ten hours of queueing, all the moshing, fainting, pulled-out-strands-of-hair, and it was worth it. To be able to catch one of the best bands (and a personal fave) in the world is like a surreal dream.

I must defend myself with the fact that after all the drama after the first two songs, Jared and I fought our way back in front valiantly and thus I have captured some marvy shots to share with ya'll. Scuse the blur-ness.

So here's saying hello to the march holidays! Days are packed packed packed.

So many things to do, so little time. See you guys around soon :)

wait a minute. OH HELL YES.

How could I forget? 2010 is going to be the best year yet.

I confess, when I started to get all these fb invites and paramore@SG updates, I was doubtful. And then came the most reliable sources, Rin & Justin. Cue, uncontrollable laughter and hyperventilation.

There are no words to describe how long I've been waiting for this. I recall once saying this to Jannabanana, 'After God, I love Paramore the most.' Of course, now that seems just plain blasphemous, but do remember that I was a young and immature two years ago

But no kidding. I AM STOKED ABOVE ALL THE STOKED PEOPLE IN THE HISTORY OF STOKE-ALITY. Brand New Eyes has got to be one of the best albums of the 2009 (Yes, I have a list) Finally, Emi and I get to go to the concert of our dreams :D

Plus, we get to see Blonde Hayley. Cause everybody loves Blonde Hayley, no?

Not forgetting, two very expensive tickets for next year as well.

Imogen Heap and Cat Power completes 2010's rollicking good music fests. So it doesn't really matter we missed out of Yeah Yeah Yeah tickets, or the fact that Green Day's sold out (both literally and figuratively)

For now, I'm walking on sunshine.

Once and fer' all, night guys!

50 ways to leave your lover

You make my dreams come true
do do, do do!

12: 23am: Feeling amazing (electric veins) and wide-eyed. This is more worrying than it should be, considering there are chinese A-levels in less than eight hours. Horse's patoot.

All that energy is probably from watching Joseph Gordon-Levitt get down to the 'You make my dreams come true' track by Hall&Oates six hundred times, who are by the way hella amazing. Also from having Brand New Eyes on repeat for the past week.

Jeremy is adorable here.
So is Hayles. Geeek.

It suddenly dawned on me how much CJ would suck without Brother Paul. Seriously, is our school not stuffy and boring already? As if we need some bat-hag dictator to come in and make our senior year even worse. Not looking forward to it at all.

Getting my work pay in a couple of days and there are no words to express how relieved I would feel. Time to pay back all my jazz concerts/workshop ticket debts to Luki (who has become Nick's and my personal loanshark), save up for the DSLR and buy a stack of good records. I'm thinking some Ella FitzGerald, or the newest Thelonious Monk record.

Meanwhile, its revisiting old favourites like Regina Spektor, the Smiths & Simon&Garfunkel <3 style="font-style: italic;">Ahhh.

She lives in a fairytale, somewhere too far for us to find.

Christmas, come already!

Jazz@southbridge was a great experience, although I'm certainly getting a better drink when we go there next time. A round of musical chairs later, Joshua came and being the 'internationally-crowned-electone-player', we got some really really good tips for the band. Currently looking for a saxophonist/pianist, anyone?

Breakfast-turned-lunch with tiara pris and azriel atIkea today which I nearly couldn't wake up for, due to last night's marshmallow smoothie ventures and what not. It was fun. 'Honey, out sinks are broken!' Cause there's always something to buy from Ikea :)

Ooer, did I mention I got hired by my crazy aunty and uncle to feed their 2947429cats, whilst they fly back to USA to meet my uncle's parents for the first time in their married life of two decades? But I digress. Plus, Tiara's dad may be getting us jobs at Hard Rock Cafe! Fingers crossed! Here's to awesome free gigs and um, wiping drunk-tourists-puke-off-the-floor.

Also hit Fontaine's, somewhere near clarke quay with Cal and the girls, a final hurrah before we get back to the mundanity of PW (geewhiz) and Chinese (double geewhiz), whoopdedoo. On the bright side, I finally got a 160GB ipod classic for the trips to and fro from school :D

Four hours of sleep, here I come. See you in a bit.

Pick the boy with the voice!

I'm usually not a fan of pretty boys (NAH who am I kidding.). Chace here, just looks smoking.

hubba hubba.

Not going to school for 3 days in a row is liberating, but it makes me feel rather out-of-sync with classmates. Stupid, messed-up, subject combination.

Still, STOMP! was sensational. Pictures up soon. Meanwhile, a conversation that brightened up the week.

Alexander. says:
SUP SUP

stacecake! says:
sup pb* (playboy, go figure.)

Alexander. says:
no more pb
just b

stacecake! says:
awwww

Alexander. says:
haha

stacecake! says:
your time will come again
but i will forever reign as nipple queen.

Alexander. says:
screw it man
LOL!!
i'll be your gester

stacecake! says:
HAHA well shit happens.

Its jester, bozo. :D

That's what you get when you let your heart win. I have no words to describe how drastically fantastic Brand New Eyes is, well go away paramore-haters. Right now its back to hitting the books and praying for the slight-chance of not being retained.

Later.

(Oh and I know it was lame that I had orange juice, but at least I didn't hit my head on the table, half-conscious. HAHA what a loser.)

Can't Stop Won't Stop.

Cheesesticks.

I really miss my ipod. It is like walking around without a soul.

Shall not go into a profanity-spam like May when she lost her pencil case (HA! that was rather amusing) but honestly, this is probably one of the worst feelings in the world.

Not to mention how furious my parental units were! To say dad had a nervy spaz, is an understatement.

The restless heart syndrome.

The world's gone mexican!

Well these days, there's no other way to put it.

I feel like michael jackson before he passed.

four dosages a day, plus the occasional panadol. and about a zillion lozenges.

Anyway, while people have been toiling in school and what not (half of my class is infected. TOLD YOU, MOE.), home has been dead boring. Really. I have been reduced to nothing but a very skilled couch potato. Even You Me At Six's record, courtesy of patrick's credit card and fueled by ramen, couldn't stop the misery from setting in.

Besides, I've heard the mid-years are back to haunt us in the form of dreaded results. Been receiving messages all day about mine and I'm quite stricken. I did pass chinese tho. Lao shi called to tell me herself, as if absolutely shocked by the outcome! Wow wee, thanks, Lao shi :D C2 again reminded me that it was under her tutelage that I passed... tsk, Modesty!

Oh one more thing.

Dear prudence, won't you come out to play? (in the yellow submarine?)

Don't cry because its over,
smile because it happened.
Under the covers we had magic,
going on.

So don't be sad that i'm gone,
someone will love you soon.
Beneath the stars,
remember me

QUESTION.

if holidays started last saturday, then why did we have school yesterday? It didn't help that kaizhen made an (honest) mistake by telling me math was at eight instead of ten. And when you live one and a half hours away from school, it can be SUCH a trial.

Not-so-top-girls! We still have fun, no?

Sushi at wheelock. Funny story;

*phone conversation with Tiara
Tiara: I can't find it! There's sushi in Wheelock meh! Me: YEAH. we are standing outside now. Tiara: oh whoops I'm at WIsma Atria.

Mandy mooose and her fishnet stocking and everyone looking at her as we walked down orchard road. Plus stalking some not-so-hot-people!

Yiwen is our sole connection between hi-chews and arrogant fellows, really.

awww shooo sweet.

HH and Nick GlasCOW being total goosegogs here. still, rose among the thorns right?

Well all in all as i have said, it was a horrible play. Tiara and i were just going like 'whaaa...' throughout the entire show, and judging by the sounds of the theatre, everyone felt pretty much the same way. Some dude came out to yell at all of us during intermission for being so noisy HAAA. that was probably the highlight of the show.

Catched up on a number of movies this week. Ramen Girl was bollocks, Night at the Musuem was a-okay and Trainspotting was pretty brilliant. Also, finally watched 'Across the Universe' starring Rachel Evan Wood and Jim Sturgess. I remember Sarah G harping about how wonderful the show is and none of us listened to her as always, and jennifer wanting to watch it because of all the Beatles songs.

So at the recent late-night trips to video-ezy with clauds and pat, it was going on offer and i decided to get it for fun. Best investment of the year, really! Everyone should watch it. Damn it, All you need is love is in my head.

I have an ant-infestation in my room. Eeek.

aaaand. packing is a pain in the behind.
