MEDICINE MAN! dance me across the country.

I said,
He's gone.
but i'm alive,
i'm coming to sing to you tonight,
A pennyworth of tunes
to keep you going till dawn,
till sleep takes over your mind,
tonight.

I sung,
with a clever tongue,
my silver words
are your cutting edge,
and now you're falling asleep,
to the singing of the damage.
I don't think i can manage,
without you tonight.

but you're already gone.

Today we had physics MCQ which i was ALMOST late for, because of unfortunate sleeping habits. The day before i only had three hours of sleep before being shaken awake for church.

Anyway yes. Went back home and slept till 9pm, so i couldnt sleep till late. Ah you know the whole cycle. So emilia called at 730 and i ran all the way to school. Physics was pretty good, SO much better than the first paper.

So after all that we went for some final shopping. More like a torture trip, it is so bloody tiring. But kinda fun. Sarah Anne got her stupid hush puppies underwear (okay i hate to admit, they were pretty cute. eek. but dont tell her i said that.), emilia got a really expensive but cool orange blouse from EDC and i finally got my dress. It is pretty casual, with POCKETS. haha.

headed to town after that with emilia to get a mask and belt at far east, and then borders to get the mamma mia soundtrack! The songs have really been in my head for the longest of times and im glad i finally got the songs.

Alright so tomorrow its another day's break which will be spent mooching around doing nothing but chemistry MCQs and watching heroes online. I cannot wait for thursday! Guitar hero 3 and rockband at nicole's house from 12am till whenever! And prom will be fun, i hope. We will all simultaneously burst into song and start dancing like HSM3. it will be a sight XD

Till next time!

honestly, the boys are too refined.

You took me by surprise.
this is a new script,
written in your hands,
and i don't know the lines.
Except.

that your plot intertwines us together,
we are lovers swathed in bedsheets,
bathed in sunset colours.
This is our medium.

Prom prep is not going as planned at all. While everyone has probably put together some wicked-shin-ding to wear on the 13th i have nothing at all! Obviously the numerous shopping trips have not been in the least, successful. Even judy, who is probably the world's number 1 procrastinator when it comes to wardrobe. Saying that i am frenzied is quite an understatement.

So mom decided to 'give me a helping hand' by dragging me around singapore last night. I have to say the highlight of the evening was when i was trying of the 100th latest-fabric-contraption and mom came in and half-shouted: 'Stacy, why do you not have any boobs?! no wonder you can't hold up the dresses'.

Wow thanks mom. you can swallow me whole up now, dear floor.
It doesn't exactly help that mom thinks anything with sequins/glittery doo-daas/humongous jewels/shimmery crap is 'cute'.

And did i mention we managed to get EVERYTHING but prom wear. Tons of groceries, some CHRISTMAS presents, a couple of books[including neil gaiman's novel, the graveyard book!! but i digress.], a couple of new shirts but no dress. Brilliant.

So got home all dejected but then watched Whose Line Is It Anyway and perked righty-up. mom came when some of them started dancing and tutted away. could see immediately she was going into the 'In my old days i was the dancing queen...' rant which i have only hear six billion times. But entertained her anyway and we started talking. for HOURS. which meant a few hilarious conversations.

Me: Mom what was the wildest thing you've ever done?

Mom: Wild? what do you know about wild.

Me: URH. like have you ever... i dunno, run across the streets stark naked or something?

Mom: Why on earth would i do that. I was much more subtle.

Me: well then what?!

Mom: well one time me and the girls [THE GIRLS. wow. apparently they were some dance group called the PEANUT group and mom was the cashew.] got into a little of a fight in some dance club with another bunch of guys, boy scouts from R.I. They challenged us to a drinking/eating competition and sent up one of their toughest guys and the girls sent ME.
Me: Oh my god mom. you didnt.

Mom: I sure did. Five bottles and six full meals later, the guy bolted to the restroom and puked his guts out.

Me: i cannot believe you made a boy scout sick DRINKING. that is crazy.

Mom: you think that's crazy? Did i tell you about the time when i got onto a boat to some island in malaysia with fifteen guys i didnt know....?

I am now pretty afraid of my mother. Also, i am ashamed to admit that i am a bit bothered by the seeming lack of 'wildness' in my life, having a mother who was once dancing queen of the 70s. By far the wildest thing i've done is to um, 'cheat' during a mathematics examination, or eat an entire bag of Lay's BBQ chips at one go. Crikey this scares me.

Doing MCQs all day sure get your head whirling. Everyone's been out, with dad in china as well [dont overdose on the milk dad.] on business, so i've been rolling about the house alone all day, watching Curtis on Takehome Chef and old The Nanny reruns. Five more days! and this is all over.

goodnight all.

P.S. I CANNOT BELIEVE THE WORDS COMING OUT [well, being typed out but irrelevant!!!] OF MY MOUTH, but i am beginning to find chuck bass' character... attractive. BLIMEY. ever since dan became a total coot. But its Ed westwick's british accent off the show that makes people irrevocably attracted to him. the horror the horror.

if i were in your shoes, i'd run a thousand miles.

just to be with you.

Its been a few days of falling into bed at 4am every morning, and tonight will be an excuse because dad is leaving for macau at 430am. Why? Its those damned tv series that need catching up on. Apparently 90210 is just another one of the shows that try to make up for its predictable-ness by injecting an extra round of bitchiness and what not.

Tuesday i had a dental at 230 and also a 'date' with six other people to catch HSM3 at night, which was a TAD ridiculous so i suppose i owe lizzie a humongous THANK YOU for coming all the way to town to hang out for a few hours. Dragged her around and didnt buy a friggin thing because she gets oh-so-critical.

Did take another I.D photo tho :D (they are all the rage!)

Left at five plus to meet mel at starbucks and the un-enthusiastic lee brothers, who looked less than overjoyed to be catching an overrated, soppy musical for 7.50. Except for mark of cause, who was getting all excited.

Luki and ains came later and we all went.
Well im not going to spoil it for all who havent watched it, but expect the... unexpectable. Too much singing and not enough dialouge, too much troy and gabriella love scenes, too much drama! We were hooting like hell at the bad parts, and this little kid got so pissed off at us she actually turned around and did the shushing thing. Oops. Well what did you expect, a theatre full of middle-aged fogeys? Unlikely.

Went to look for masks at spotlight.

Got so loud that the spotlight lady ran to the aisle to shut us up. and here goes, you'll know why.

No, i didn't think he looked gay either.

we were trying to cut off the phantom's breathing supply.

okay NOW luki you out-gayed yourself.

i dont know what that is!
someone just shrunk his hat!
Went home with luki and mel.

Next day was out with the usual! THey just had chinese paper and came over to change. geraldine INSISTED on changing in the wardrobe but started banging all over the place and almost broke the wood apart. of course no one wanted to 'go in' the makeshift changing room to save her so it was quite a bizarre situation. Met judy and sarah ee and went to try and get some prom shopping down. Ah.

as emilia pointed out 'what a range!' it is an apt name, none the less.

will you believe this dress cost half a grand? it is also geraldine's (secret) dream dress.

its not everyday someone gets to wear a 700dollar mink coat.
Minced around every single shop in wisma atria and taka in search for something to wear on prom, but in vain. So the last half hour was spent eating some overpriced gelato and chicken sticks, satisfying! Headed to church for drama practise. it was HILARIOUS.

i must say i carry off the role of the drunk girl very well. although i dont see why i have to hold ben's arm YELCH kel and mel were laughing all the way. So while all the drama[literally] is going on, jennifer is a.w.o.l and i am left alone to get punched in the face by an over-enthusiastic actor. It was a horrific experience.

But not as bad as getting a ride in kelvin's car. Now you know why we have to wait till 21 to get our licenses!

Today just went to emi's, and then simei for her to try on contacts. I have to say im privileged to be able to see emilia cry [well it was just a tear, but it still counts!], 45 minutes poking your pupil isnt all that fun. snapped a few secret pictures for fun.

renee's to do MCQ questions and watch heroes! It was nerve-wrecking. i might die from a heart attack simply for watching one of those episodes.

Season 3 was confusing.
Tmr im going out with mom to get shopping done once and for all, good grief.

So goodnight all, happy studying!

do you see what we've done?

we've made such fools of ourselves.

GO WATCH DECODE.
i must say the sight of the boys flitting from tree to tree [and picking twigs off the forest floor...?] was quite hilarious. Zac was amazing on the drums and hayley's vocals are amazing as usual. and the whole video gets plus points because josh doesn't look like he's totally BALD, but jeremy suuuure is. Only downside: Rob P was there to marr the perfectly good video with his purple lips and astonishingly large forehead.

Alright to the movies and some good shopping. for cds and tee shirts, so dont get your hopes up mom.

i'll figure this one out, on my own.

Ah, tis' raining!

__________________________________________________

1. THE WORST IS OVER! REJOICE! The second week is done. Biology paper was pretty easy and could see that our whole class hardly broke a sweat. This is all credit to ms Voon's excellent teaching [if we had gotten cough cough, god knows what would have happened.] Four more papers and its really over.

2. Everyone please vote for Paramore as best rock act at the EMAs Liverpool! You have 12 days and YOUR VOTE COUNTS.

3. Decode video is premiering november third in all major music channels/radio stations on november 3rd, so watch out for uploads on youtube. So twilight fans [urk.] who think vamps flitting between trees are the shizzle, you'll like this one. (also not to be missed: Jeremy Davis' new haircut shave on video! Looks a bit like david becks, srsly.)

4. With all the ripped out history mindmaps, the wall looks really barren. As a really early birthday present, william said he would sponser a couple of online posters! Yayers.

5. Admist the cramming and constant mugging, i've missed out on alot of 'action' from the krossfire people. The 'liquor' queen got thrown out of a club last saturday for lying on the dancefloor and refusing to budge. Needless to say, J was embarrassed. Reminds me of last year when we did a show and Beer Queen got tipsy on two cocktails, calling me 'Justin' and calling Justin 'Cindy'. Quite a scene. Those were the days.

6. Mom demands to learn how to use facebook and has proclaimed her IT tutor yours truly. The prospect is certainly daunting, since mom doesn't even know that you're supposed to put a 'dot-com' at the end of a web address, let alone use a networking sites. May the lord give me patience

7. 30 seconds to mars wins two awards for Kerrang! 08, beating you me at six for best brit band. This is disgusting. what happened to music!

8. May i say that hayley's hair at the premier of Mtv 2008 Guadalajara - Mexico, looked like she just dipped her head in a vat of cherry syrup. The performance was flawless though, new drum solo by Zachary on TWYG, brilliant! One thing i didnt know: Mexicans sure are feisty paramore fans. They played their last show yesterday and got mobbed like hell.

9. I heard people are comparing harry potter and twilight now, and worse, proclaiming the latter do be victors in the fantasy novel struggle. Let's put one fact straight; Teenage romance novel it may be, or even Fiction fad of the year, but great literature it does not make. Just because half the ah lian population in singapore is squealing over edward cullen DOES NOT make it hail-worthy. Harry Potter, anyday.

10. Its pretty darn late. Goodnight all!

Thursday, October 30, 2008

raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice.

Whoops.

So its been a week.
These are the days that are supposed to be the most stressful but i can hardly say i feel much pressure. Thank God for letting me walk into the exam hall every day with a calm heart!

With the exception of physics paper, which took all of us[well, most.] by surprise. It was insanity, to say in the least. Didnt help that i had the attack of the monthly cramps in the first 15 minutes and had this brief conversation with one of the many useless oblivious invigilators

*Invigilator spots me sprawled on table, clutching stomach and looking like death.

Invigilator: Excuse me, are you alright? You shouldn't be sleeping.
Me: *quite perplexed at invigilator's lack of observation powers. No i'm not sleeping, i have pretty bad cramps.
Invigilator: Oh. Um. We can't allow you to go to the toilet. Sorry. *Walks away.
Me: what.

But whatever, vut's over tis over.

Its official! We're going to switzerland!
Emilia's mom came yesterday for dinner to get all the details sorted out and talked with my nutty aunty[it was quite embarrasing], and instead of italy, its to clock-agogo-land. So here's to snowboarding!

We're leaving on christmas day which is pretty darn far away.

Me: So we're leaving on christmas night?
Mom: Yes! So that means you'll land there on boxers day.
*long silence.
Me: MOM. bo-XING day.
Mom: Oh whoops sorry.
*emilia does hacking/breathing laughter.

Emath was alright i suppose but was uber sleepy. I'm starting to be quite a fan of afternoon papers, on account they do allow you to sleep in for so much longer[shhhh, but it allows you to do last minute cramming too.]. Tomorrow is Biology, which means the time to pump information in! Loads and loads of it.

I miss bex loads, talking to her on FB makes everything less of a drag. She thinks that studying Reproduction On Man is such a hoot, but i tell her there are better ways to spend your friday nights. Go publish your warped theories!

TWLOHA SHIPS TO SINGAPORE.

it is probably the best news i had all week [besides the fact that claudia pre-ordered TWO paramore-decode packs cough cough.]

In the words of southern california surfers/skaters/stoned hobos/hayley williams, i am stoked!

This means literally a hefty TON of shopping to do after these load of papers are over with. Watch out for the screaming loony on thursday!

1 180 000 seconds left.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Who are you kidding?

And we'll stand up tall to sing,
sing the moments back to me,
the moments when i wasn't here,
Where you can say,
This is where i was,
when you couldn't find me,
This is how i felt.

UPDATED COUNTDOWN: 1 722 816 SECONDS LEFT.

now that doesn't seem so bad doesnt it?

The perks of having O levels is that everyone around you starts to treat you like an absolute invalid, which is another way to say they start treating you NICE. As if you are about to crack any moment. Like how mom is perpertually attempting to whip up some dubious nutritious meal with ingredients from reader digest's Brain Food List. Yesterday she announced she was going to cook dinner[HOLY GUACAMOLE YES THE WOMAN TRIED!] and i told her i didnt want to die before O levels ended, which ended up with her chasing me out of the kitchen with saucepan in hand. SHEESH MAN.

E math today was okay-ish and amath was HURRR[wow this doesnt speak so well for the coming results right?] The invigilators are bizarre. After four days of careful observation i have named them as such, and commented on their even weirder behaviour.

1. Dude-who-smells-like-he-just-bathed-in-extra-strong-cologne-that-collects-our-papers-uber-slowly. Moves like a robot too, indicating absence of ball-and-socket joints.

2. Woman-who-looks-freakishly-like-nicole's-mother. But nicole refuses to admit.

3. Absolutely cannot stand woman who yells says 'YOU HAVE FIFTEEN MINUTES LEFT. YOU HAVE FIFTEEN MINUTES LEFT.' at approximately 120decibels. And makes us all jump outta seats in sheer shock.

4. Guy-with-abnormally-large-pants-worn-in-an-extremely-unflattering way. And unflattering as in, really high up there.

5. PE-teacher-of-undistinguishable-sex. Need i say more? Also finds it necessary that she crosses the hall-span at top velocity and with extra STOMP.

It is probably very bad to people watch during the o-level period and when im supposed to be fervently checking through my papers for careless mistakes, but phoooo.

Just got back from renee's, two straight hours of halo two is not healthy for your brain. infact, it gives you very serious migranes. Well, we all need a break after double math papers[amath was torture for anyone with an itchy bum like yours truly.] It didnt help either that i didnt get even forty winks of sleep because the whole gang came over. Like NINE of them. And that gets a little chaotic when five people are fighting for a spot on my bed, gerry and sarah anne being the main noise-machines. oh well you get what you get.

Mixed Tape is in my head!
CLAUDIA I GET DIBS ON THE GUYS FROM you me at six!
Goodnight all, the bed beckons.

Monday, October 20, 2008

CHEM WAS OK.

come on! we can do-it!

Its a shame that somewhere in mexico, paramore is playing their final shows and eating burritos[also jamming at the VMAs for a night or two. Ya know, just for kicks.] while we are here trying to cram another modicum of information into our already-crammed brain.

My neighbours are INCORRIGIBLE. It is english tomorrow and thou shalt practise by shooting out long incomprehensible vocabulary at outrageous velocity. STUDY FOR ENGLISH, otherwise ms kang will kill in cold blood because it really is the most important subject we're taking. wouldn't you agree, mr poh?

Sunday, October 19, 2008

We've got time on our hands.

25 more days.

Exactly 585 hours before torment is over.

35 100 minutes more of slaving away and burning short-chain alkanes midnight oil.

2 100 600 SECONDS
before we throw our hands up, scream like raving loonies and run around the hall doing cartwheels. [or the unfit ones like yours truly can just throw our hands up and scream.]

so the countdown begins.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Save it for the bedroom, hon.

CAN'T. SLEEP.

you me at six is so aussome can't get them out of my head. Unfortunately the album costs a hefty 15pounds online so i can just forget about it cause my money tree died last year in drought.

Paramore merch on hot topic going for 9.99!!! RUSH PEOPLE RUSH!
