Maybe I'll break your heart

'When do I get to be upset? When do I get to be anything other than me?'

I've seen the season 5 SKINS trailer and the only redeeming factor is that it was set to Arcade Fire's 'Ready to Start'. How I miss mysterious effy, JJ and his ukulele, and Naomi Campbell already.

We'll see next January :D

A sudden epiphany in the deep of the night

Playing ukulele in the dark can be haunting, disconcerting and extremely fun at the same time.

To go away on a summer's day (oh, holiday!)

5 things about Vampire Weekend's Holiday Video

1. The fact that Christmas (and all 12 days of it) the best holiday of the year, has begun. Speaking of which, Merry Christmas everybody!
2. Road trips and road-trip-music. Off to Malaysia tomorrow with the family!
3. Drinking horchata in December? Along with heaps of Christmas food :)
4. The not-so-subtle Lady Gaga imitations
5. Ezra Koenig! Albeit, in a wig. Still! Ezra, no less.

My Heart

Saying goodbye to one of the most influential, energetic and talented bands in my life. Despite all the finger-pointing and trash-talking (on both sides), I've got to say that if Josh & Zac weren't happy, it was right for them to leave. All good things do have to come to an end.

It's sad, but as long as paramore has Hayley, there's still hope :) Love you guys!

They see me rollin'

'Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty'

Harriet Pitztomania says hello!

Aunty Judith's cool John Lennon shades!

Go-karting, shopping and pigging-out in JB on Monday was so much better than expected! It's amazing the amount of fun you can get out of a paltry 100 dollars in Malaysia. Despite my gravitational pull to freak accidents and what not, I'm proud to say that I emerged unscathed from the event.

Christmas is coming in four days and I haven't finished writing my cards! With luck, some of the cards will get to you before New Years Day (That includes you, Santa Claus ;D) Other than that, life consists of music and drama practices, days spent watching M.A.S.H and scoffing chips, and the occasional bull-session with friends. Spent wayyyy too much money this month but hopefully that'll be covered by starting work in 2011!!

Till then, it'll be just laying back in a stagnant pool of lethargy. Hola!

Bringing out the cookies and milk

For people who have nil baking ability and are still clueless (and desperate, like me) on what to get Christmas gifts, avoid the mad town-shopping-scramble and head over to Yoke Online Bakery. Free delivery for orders above 30 dollars, and within 4-10 days! You'll never have to step out of the house for cookies again.

Drool, and then proceed to choosing. I've got to say, the matcha shortbread looks delicious :D

A girl should be two things; classy and fabulous.

Know anyone else who looked better in a wool vest, wide-brimmed trilby and a spotted tie?

I think not.

Rise & Shine my sister

Enjoying my birthday presents very much :D This year I also got Ray-bans, a lot of book vouchers, a new bag and... two packages of baqua.

I have no idea if that's just a 'creative' and out-of-the-box idea, or a reference to my swine-ness. Off to celebrate Mel's birthday at TGIFs! 21st, is a lot more important than the 18th, I'll say.

All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

Fervent facebook discussions on the Beatles (in light of commemorating forty years since the brilliant Liverpool quartet broke up) makes me sad.

Just gotta love Ringo's face tho :)

On turning 18.

I'll say, pretty fantastic! So thankful for all my wonderful friends and family for making this week and enjoyable one.

For now... I'll be needing plenty of snooze, breakfast in bed and the newest season of Mad Men to recuperate. I'm such a homebody it's not funny!

Not so... (afterall)

Three hours into my birthday and I'm at home watching a Korean movie with mom and nibbling on week-old Kimchi. All the same, I'm feeling strangely contented.

So to all you flymothers out there celebrating/drinking/clubbing/getting wasted/being 'badass' in general, lemme tell you that this is a lot better :)

Also, a big thank you to all my friends who came to Timbre on Monday to celebrate, and just shock me in general. You are all much loved! Thank God for giving me such awesome friends who take the trouble and time :)

18! Here's looking at the real world.

Montmarte

Counting all different ideas drifting away
Past and present, they don't matter now the future's sorted out
Watch her move in elliptical patterns
Think it's not what you say, what you say is way too complicated
For a minute, though, I couldn't tell how to fall out

It's twenty seconds 'til the last call
Calling hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Lie down, you know it's easy
Like we did it all the summer long

And I'll be anything you ask and more
Going hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
It's not a miracle we needed
No, I wouldn't let you think so

Folded, folded, folded, folded
Folded, folded, folded, folded

Girlfriend, oh, your girlfriend is drifting away
Past and present, 1855, 1901
Watch them build up a meteor tower
Think it's not gonna stay anyway, I think it's overrated
For a minute, though, I couldn't tell how to fall out

The time of wine red

In spite of Gold Motel's summer-y pop tunes, I can't help but miss the quartet. WHY HUSH SOUND, WHY.

I didn't come out of a cereal box

That is ridonkulus. Wait, donkeys? THAT IS IRRELEPHANT.

I don't know.

On borrowed French adjectives

Today I learnt how to say 'Bourgeois' properly. It made studying language variation for Linguistics paper next tuesday slightly more rewarding; I like what it means, the way the word sounds, how it rolls off my tongue.

Sometimes I watch old French movies and am appalled by my apparent lack of an accent. Or, the ghastliness of my Singaporean one.

Currently listening to You, Me & the Bourgeoisie by the Submarines

7 more days before this madness that we call the A levels come to an end!

Early in the Advent

Christmas fest last week (actually it took up the better part of the months of october and novemeber) which was pretty fun :D cheers to tagteamsisterfromanothermother dayna who came and poor clare who tried to but failed because of her fail domestic helper life.

Dinner with the ling family afterwards! Sashimi @wahiro and gelato @cocogelato. Surrounded by intense atasness, enough to make you faint!

Today marks the start of intense studying! Makes me wonder why I'm online looking at mean girls spoofs and watching backdated episodes of GLEE.
